This webinar will focus on the interconnecting policy and practice that shapes the experiences of people with drug and alcohol problems within the criminal justice system. It will be chaired by Mike Trace, Chief Executive of Forward Trust and Collective Voice Trustee.
Keynote speaker HM Chief Inspector of Probation Justin Russell will present findings from the Inspectorate's recent report on drug treatment, which found referrals from probation into specialist services are at a critically low level. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Nino Maddalena, Criminal Justice Manager at Public Health England and Hendrik de Vries, Peer Mentor at Turning Point.
The second half will feature three good-practice presentations from around the criminal justice and substance misuse treatment systems, followed by a panel discussion on the broader, interconnecting themes across their work. Our three speakers will include:
