Luciana is our Training Officer at ISSUP.
She joined ISSUP in November 2021 as an Online Event Coordinator, leading the online side of the Abu Dhabi Conference 2022—a week of sessions bringing together perspectives on substance use from around the world. She later moved into the website team, supporting content and contributing to projects across the organisation. As the website sits at the heart of ISSUP’s work, this gave her a real sense of how everything connects across the network.
These experiences gradually led her into her current role, where she now works more behind the scenes on trainer engagement and supports the development and delivery of ISSUP’s training strategy.
Before ISSUP, Luciana worked as a specialised dietician for over 20 years, supporting people with diabetes and their families. Along the way, she developed training and educational materials for healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical teams—something that continues to influence her work today. She brings strong communication and organisational skills, along with a genuine empathy for people.
Originally from Brazil, Luciana now lives with her family in Düsseldorf, Germany. She enjoys rowing, running, singing, and playing the piano.
