Luciana is our website officer at ISSUP.
She joined ISSUP in November 2021 as an online event coordinator, leading the organisation of the online component of the Abu Dhabi Conference 2022. This comprised a week-long stream of online sessions showcasing the substance use situation and the responses around the world. Since August 2022, she has been supporting the web development team in the implementation of web projects, including content production and collaborating with the wider ISSUP team and external partners.
Before joining ISSUP, Luciana worked as a specialised dietician for more than 20 years, working with people with diabetes and their families. This involved developing training, and education materials for healthcare professionals and task force teams in pharmaceutical industries. During this time, Luciana developed many skills, including excellent communication and organisational skills and strong empathy for people, which she feels are invaluable in her current role at ISSUP.
She is Brazilian and is currently living with her family in Düsseldorf, Germany. Luciana loves rowing, running, singing, and playing the piano.
