Position Summary

This internship offers an exceptional opportunity for hands-on experience in the dynamic field of public policy within the non-profit sector. Reporting to the Public Policy Manager, you will work closely with our dedicated team to assist with research, and prepare the organization for its public policy event, The National Leadership Forum in January 2024

Specific Duties

  • Policy monitoring and summarization
    • Attend relevant meetings, hearings, and mark-ups on and off Capitol Hill and complete write-ups for use by CADCA members and staff. 
  • Special projects
    • Assist in preparing for Capitol Hill Day (i.e., scheduling meetings, encouraging Forum attendees to register for Capitol Hill Day, and updating advocacy materials such as the Capitol Hill Day book).
  • Logistical and staff support to CADCA’s Public Policy Department
    • Prepare, assemble, and deliver packets for Hill staff.
    • Organize funding charts and local outcomes used for advocacy efforts.
    • Assist with presentation development to maintain timely research on substance use.
