ISSUP National Chapters Annual General Meeting 2025

On September 1, the ISSUP National Chapters convened online for their 2025 Annual General Meeting, bringing together 68 participants from National Chapters around the world. With the year already well advanced, the meeting offered a timely opportunity to reflect on progress, plan how best to close 2025, and begin setting priorities for the year ahead.
Regional updates highlighted the impressive impact being achieved at the country level. They also reflected the resilience of the National Chapters and the meaningful contributions they continue to make within their respective regions.
Another key highlight was an update on the upcoming ISSUP Conference in Indonesia. Olha Myshakivska and Bárbara Correa presented details of the venue, programme, and planned side events. The much-anticipated ISSUP event hosted by ISSUP Indonesia in partnership with the National Narcotics Board of Indonesia (BNN) is scheduled to take place in Kuta from 17 to 19 September 2025.
ISSUP Global also shared progress on ongoing initiatives, including youth-focused activities, the work of the National Chapter Advisory Committee and the introduction of a new document map designed to simplify the identification and traceability of available ISSUP resources.
Following months of consultation and development, the redesigned National Chapters webpage was officially unveiled during the meeting. The upgraded platform is more user-friendly, enhances visibility for regional groupings, introduces greater interactivity, and features a distinctive new element: quotes from National Chapters. We invite you also to share your reflections—What do ISSUP National Chapters mean to you? Contribute your thoughts here and you may be featured online.
The meeting concluded with a poll on the way forward for the National Chapters. Areas under consideration included training, events, webinars and podcasts, social media campaigns, and networking. A clear appetite for more in-person engagement emerged from the poll, reinforcing the value members place on direct connection and collaboration. With this momentum, ISSUP looks forward with optimism to the 2026 global face-to-face meeting.
