Path to Freedom: Buddhist Psychology for Addiction Recovery - Course Syllabus
This course is designed to complement and strengthen existing training curricula in addiction prevention and recovery by providing a deeper, structured understanding grounded in Buddhist psychology. It builds upon and further advances current approaches, particularly mindfulness-based practices, by integrating them with ethical discipline (sīla), concentration (samādhi), and wisdom (paññā), as well as cognitive and behavioural transformation methods. By linking traditional contemplative practices with contemporary prevention and rehabilitation strategies, the course enhances practitioners', educators', and community workers' capacity to deliver more holistic, effective, and sustainable responses to substance use and addiction.
