Ethics in Prevention: The Role and Ethical Responsibilities of Prevention Professionals
Prevention professionals make decisions every day that require more than technical knowledge. Questions about professional boundaries, community needs, confidentiality, competence, and responsible practice can arise throughout prevention planning and implementation. A strong understanding of prevention ethics helps professionals navigate these situations thoughtfully while maintaining trust with the individuals and communities they serve.
During this practical, one-hour session, participants will explore how ethical principles apply to the day-to-day work of prevention professionals. Participants will examine common ethical responsibilities, consider how ethical practice contributes to a strong and effective prevention workforce, and identify strategies they can apply in their own work.
This session is a collaboration between the Hispanic/Latino Behavioral Health Center of Excellence and the PTTC Network Coordinating Office
