Rutto Kolem

Rutto Kolem is a youth leader & community development practitioner from Kenya and the Founder of the Tiaty Youth Development Association (TYDA), a grassroots community-based organization working in Baringo County. He is actively involved in youth empowerment substance use prevention peer counselling, and psychosocial support programs targeting vulnerable young people in pastoralist communities. Through TYDA, Rutto has supported the establishment of peer counselling clubs in schools and community groups across Tiaty Constituency, reaching young people with awareness, mentorship, and recovery-oriented support He has also worked closely with community leaders, youth groups and development partners to promote community-led solutions to drug and substance abuse, peacebuilding and social inclusion. Rutto is passionate about strengthening youth leadership in underserved regions and believes that community-driven prevention approaches can create long-term impact. His work focuses on empowering young people with knowledge, leadership skills and psychosocial support to help them make positive life choices and contribute to their personal development.
