The European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) is the leading authority on illicit drugs in Europe. Based in Lisbon, Portugal, the EUDA provides independent scientific evidence and analysis on all aspects of this constantly changing threat to individual lives and wider society. The EUDA contributes to EU and national policies to protect Europe's citizens from drug-related harms. It is an agency of the European Union.
Our new mission focuses on contributing to European Union (EU) preparedness on drugs through four main actions: anticipate, alert, respond, and learn.
The EMCDDA and the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) are offering two upcoming events in 2021: the European Drugs Winter School (EDWS) and the European Drugs Summer School (EDSS).
The EDWS will take place as a virtual event from 1–12 March 2021 and will explore the theme of 'Responses to, and preparedness for, health-related threats (COVID-19 lessons learned)'.
The EMCDDA is offering a series of webinars around the theme of COVID-19. The purpose of the webinars is to help those working in the drugs field understand how drug users, and those supporting them, are coping with the pandemic and to share knowledge and experience. The webinars will give a voice to key professionals working in the drugs field and will allow for a panel discussion on emerging challenges.
The most recent report of the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) will be published on 12 November 2020. The ESPAD Report 2019 is based on a 2019 survey in 35 Europen countries. ESPAD has been collecting data through school surveys every four years since 1995.
