The sixty-first regular session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) will be held in Washington, D.C., April 24-26, 2017. The draft agenda for the meeting as well as all other documentation (Draft Schedule of Activities, Information Bulletin with registration instructions, reports and presentations) will be posted on CICAD’s webpage www.cicad.oas.org in due course.

The Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM) held the 2nd National Youth Forum on Prevention of Drug Abuse on the 18th of February 2017 in New Delhi with the support of Vishwa Yuvak Kenda (International Youth Centre). Over 300 young people from selected colleges and institutions recommended various drug use prevention measures which could be considered for implementation by both the Government and Civil Society Organisations during an interaction with Deputy Director General, Narcotic

The ISSUP team held a three-day staff meeting in Windsor, UK from 7 – 9 February 2017. The meeting offered a chance to reflect on the organisation’s achievements so far, as well as to consider and evaluate its future objectives which will look to further ISSUP’s contribution to the professionalisation of the substance use prevention and treatment workforce.

The International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR) conference offers a great opportunity to learn about substance use university education, training, research, international collaboration and networking, and substance use professionals. The main conference will be held in Prague on June 20-21, 2017 with pre-conference events and workshops on June 19, 2017.

The First Recovery Conference was held from 16-18 December 2016 at Parjatan Motel and Youth Inn in Kuakata, Bangladesh. The event was organized by SANJOG ( A Network for Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers in Bangladesh). More than 300 people (recovered people, family members of the recovered, drug treatment and rehabilitation centers authorities and SANJOG Executive Committee Members) participated in the Recovery Conference.
