Awareness Seminar: Effects of Substance use and Prevention

Substance use is a menace that not only devastates an individual's life but also poses a significant threat to the peace, tranquility, and progress of the entire society. In today's era, the younger generation is rapidly falling prey to this curse, particularly in Tuba Sultan Pur and its surrounding areas, where the increasing use of narcotics has become a cause for concern.

To address this issue, ASBF Memorial Welfare Society, Tuba Sultan Pur, organized an awareness seminar in collaboration with the Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Department, Punjab, Counter Narcotics Force, Multan Division, and Drug Rehabilitation Center, Multan. The seminar featured expert speakers, including Muzammil Yar Director Programe, Dr Asif Residence psychiatrist Nishtar Hospital, Ms Uzma Amin psychologist,  teachers, and community spokes person who enlightened the participants about the detrimental effects of narcotics and strategies for prevention.

The speakers emphasized that timely awareness and engagement of youth in positive activities are the most effective ways to prevent drug abuse. They suggested that educational institutions, parents, and social organizations must work together to combat this issue. Some key recommendations included:

- Encouraging youth to participate in sports and healthy activities
- Providing accessible treatment and rehabilitation centers for those struggling with Substance Use
- Parents should give special attention to their children and provide a loving and trusting environment
- Government and social organizations should jointly promote awareness campaigns

The seminar concluded with a collective resolve to work towards creating a drug-free society. It was emphasized that preventing narcotics abuse is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of individuals, families, educational institutions, and the community as a whole. By working together, we can build a healthier and more prosperous society for our children.
