The article does a good job showing how betting and gambling get woven into student sports culture and end up replacing real interest in the sport itself. In our department, match discussions easily turn into links to https://luckyjetgame.org/ and https://king-thimbles-game.com/ and https://plinkogamesonline.org/ and then the conversation isn’t about the team anymore, it’s about how to win your money back. This makes the risk feel normalized: losing is seen as just part of the fun, not as a financial or psychological problem. It would be useful if universities talked about these mechanisms as openly as they do about training and health.
