Welcoming Rasha Abi Hana to the team!

ISSUP are pleased to announce the appointment of Rasha Abi Hana to the position of Scientific Support Coordinator of the recently established ISSUP Scientific Support Team.

Rasha joins ISSUP with a wealth of experience and expertise from her work in the drug demand reduction field. She leaves her current post as Service Development Coordinator in the National Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon where she has focussed on building appropriate, evidence-based initiatives to provide substance use disorder treatment; support of prevention science including being trained as a trainer in evidence-based programmes; and assisting in the implementation of the inter-ministerial response strategy for Lebanon in respect to service development for drug demand reduction.

Rasha has a Masters Degree in Quality Control, a Diploma in Mental Health Policy and Services, and is currently studying for her PhD in Public Health. Her Arabic and French language skills provide a further asset to ISSUP’s work.

Rasha will be working with Edie O’Dowd and Jeff Lee to form the ISSUP Scientific Support Team. The Team will focus on providing relevant scientific and technical inputs to support ISSUP’s work internally and to help ensure the scientific rigour and relevance of the contribution ISSUP provides to the drug demand reduction community generally and to its members specifically.

We trust you will join us in welcoming Rasha and wishing her every success in helping ISSUP achieve its mission.
