The First Recovery Conference was held from 16-18 December 2016 at Parjatan Motel and Youth Inn in Kuakata, Bangladesh. The event was organized by SANJOG ( A Network for Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers in Bangladesh). More than 300 people (recovered people, family members of the recovered, drug treatment and rehabilitation centers authorities and SANJOG Executive Committee Members) participated in the Recovery Conference. The programme was started by hoisting the national and SANJOG flag. The SANJOG Secretary Mr. Iqbal Masud hoisted the national flag while the SANJOG President Dr. Peter Halder hoisted the SANJOG flag. After hoisting the national and SANJOG flag the SANJOG President announced the inauguration of the event.
The conference included a welcome speech, presentations and open discussions on SANJOG activities and on Narcotics Anonymous, a workshop on recovery coaching, the formation of a human chain, candle lighting, a recovery countdown, a sharing meeting, a BBQ night and a cultural programme and raffle.
