This webinar will introduce the recently launched WHO guidelines on parenting interventions to prevent maltreatment and enhance parent-child relationships, and their related recommendations for relevant governmental and non-governmental personnel responsible for supporting, establishing, guiding, training or availing such services as well as developers, managers or academicians implicated in evaluating such interventions.

It will also reflect on the ongoing work on further improving the culture of prevention through the UNODC WHO International Standards on Drug Use Prevention and the value of such new parenting recommendations in this context for prevention of drug use, violence, and other negative social and health consequences.

It will also describe experiences in implementing such parenting interventions in different social contexts including in humanitarian context as a call for action to re-engage and support families as a core social institution particularly at a time of post COVID19 where there is an imminent need to reignite global commitment to accelerate implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals between now and 2030.
