Medicine: Mind the Gap is a webinar series that explores research design, measurement, intervention, data analysis, and other methods of interest for prevention science.
The widespread adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) has created enormous possibilities for embedding prevention activities into the fabric of care and for conducting research to formally evaluate various prevention strategies. This webinar will provide some examples of the types of prevention activities that can be fostered using the EMR, provide some historical perspective on the challenges of using the EMR to conduct research more generally, and give specific examples of prevention-oriented research that heavily relies on the EMR for its conduct.
