Alcohol and Cancer Risks: A Guide for Health Professionals

Measurement-Based Care (MBC) is rapidly emerging as an essential component of care, treatment and services in the provision of behavioural healthcare. MBC, as an evidence-based framework, involves the use of a standardized instrument to provide an objective assessment of progress throughout the course of treatment.
Substance use developmentally peaks during emerging adulthood (ages 18-25). Many emerging adults who develop problematic substance use during this developmental period have been exposed to environmental, individual, and interpersonal stressors throughout the life that places them at risk for ongoing difficulties with substance use as they transition to adulthood.
This workshop will include information about the various aspects of substance use disorder and how it impacts individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH).
This presentation is geared at increasing addiction counsellor understanding of the legal, ethical, and liability-related factors that come into play with clinical documentation, regardless of pay source (insurance, public funding like Medicare, or private pay, etc.) or work context (agency, private practice, etc.).
