Challenges in prevention and treatment in the post-pandemic (Argentina-Chile-Mexico-Peru)

ISSUP Argentina presented a webinar that addressed the increased impact of isolation and social distancing stemming from the pandemic on the quality of life of vulnerable populations in Latin America, including children and adolescents, resulting in deteriorating mental health and an increase in the use of psychoactive substances.

The webinar took place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. (Argentina time)

The various types of isolation and social distancing that had to be carried out during the course of the pandemic, had a direct impact on the quality of life of people in general and an even greater impact on vulnerable populations, including children and adolescents, which caused the deterioration of mental health and an increase in the consumption of psychoactive substances. This situation is aggravated in Latin America due to the increase in structural poverty throughout the region. The combination of these factors requires planning preventive and treatment strategies that can provide effective responses to the various demands that will arise in the areas of prevention and treatment in the post-pandemic. This Webinar aims to show aspects of the situation of each country (Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru) and think of a collaborative working table possible interventions in both areas.
