Dr. Tajudeen Abiola

Dr. Tajudeen Abiola is an accomplished mental health specialist who has dedicated his career to mental health promotion, addiction prevention, and public health initiatives on a global scale. With his extensive background in psychiatry and psychotherapy, he is committed to combating addiction and improving mental well-being worldwide. Currently serving as the Head of Clinical Services at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Kaduna-Nigeria, Tajudeen oversees the efficient operations of the hospital and provides specialized medical psychotherapy services. His research on effective intervention strategies contributes to evidence-based practices in managing psychological trauma and preventing addiction.

In his roles as the Head of the Scientific Board and National Secretary of the Green Crescent Health Development Initiative (GHI), he spearheads addiction prevention programs and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to address addiction-related issues in communities. He also leads nationwide efforts to combat addiction and develops capacity-building programs for community groups focused on youth development. Dr. Abiola actively coordinates collaborative efforts among local and international medical professionals through the IMAN Addiction Working Group. He fosters partnerships and advocates for preventive measures to address addiction challenges globally.

Dr Abiola academic achievements include curriculum development and training programs in medical psychotherapy and addiction prevention education. As a prolific author with numerous publications on mental health issues, addiction prevention and psychosocial interventions. He has authored a book exploring the link between entrepreneurship and addiction and contributed chapters to an upcoming undergraduate textbook on psychiatry. Tajudeen has secured grants and currently collaborates as a Co-Principal Investigator on the "Bridging the Childhood Epilepsy Treatment Gap in Africa" (BRIDGE) project, which aims to foster international partnerships and improve child care. Passionate about sharing knowledge, Dr. Abiola has delivered over 22 public lectures globally, advocating for addiction prevention and mental health. He is a member of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) among other professional bodies.
