World AIDS Day 2022 Event: Challenges and Perspectives from SUD Treatment Practice

In acknowledgement of World AIDS Day, ISSUP Italy would like to invite you to attend their upcoming Webinar.

First Presentation: The Post COVID-19 AIDS Challenges

The characteristics of HIV infection and how they have evolved over the years will be described, highlighting the major achievements in this field. In particular, the aetiological, epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects will be analysed as they have evolved over the years in the light of scientific acquisitions since the 1980s. Reference will also be made to the impact that COVID-19 has had on HIV-related pathology and its management policies. 

Second Presentation: Symptoms and Psychiatric syndromes and people who use drugs

Symptoms and Psychiatric syndromes among people who use drugs, will also be discussed. Substance use disorders can refer to substance use or substance dependence. Mental health problems and substance use disorders sometimes occur together. More than one in four adults living with serious mental health problems also has a substance use problem. Substance use problems occur more frequently with certain mental health problems, such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Improved knowledge of the current situation of HIV infection in clinical, therapeutic, and management, aspects.
  • Improved knowledge of mental health problems and substance use disorders.
