About this Event

This event will include: 

• A presentation from Danielle Carmichael, SRC, and Rebecca Bradley, SFAD, on their research "Rewriting the Media’s Portrayal of Addiction and Recovery" followed by an activity session and q+a

• An open discussion on the role of organisations in the sector to influence and set standards around the language used to describe problematic drug and alcohol use and gambling, both in the media/public realm and within services 

This event is open to:

• anyone who works with people or families affected by drugs, alcohol or gambling in the UK
• anyone with lived experience of being affected by their own drug/alcohol use/gambling problem or their family/ friend's drugs/alcohol use /gambling problem
• journalists/ anyone working the media 
• anyone else with an interest in the topic
