'People do change' - The Blue Light Conference

Online,

Alcohol Change UK’s first national Blue Light conference

A full day of sharing expertise and experience about engaging with chaotic alcohol-dependent drinkers and supporting them to turn their lives around. This conference will introduce you to Alcohol Change UK’s Blue Light Project, how it works, and how you can start implementing it in your local area.

About the Blue Light project

Chaotic alcohol-dependent drinkers can have a tremendous impact on their communities and make frequent demands on a range of services: healthcare, social care, housing, emergency services, and others. Much of the cost of supporting these drinkers arises from the unplanned way in which they access services as they go from crisis to crisis. T

The Blue Light Project offers alternative approaches to engaging with this group: planning their care and reducing the harm they cause to themselves and others. It also offers a real message of hope: that people whose lives are blighted by heavy and chaotic alcohol use can have a happier, healthier, and more stable future.

Who is this conference for?

If you’re involved in commissioning or providing frontline services, then this event is for you. The Blue Light Project can help drug and alcohol services, social services, housing providers, the emergency services, the NHS, town-centre managers, and others, to engage with chaotic drinkers for the benefit of all. In the sixty or more local authority areas where it has been implemented, the Blue Light Project has brought real reductions in harm and substantial reductions in costs to the public purse.
