Sixty-fourth session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)


The sixty-fourth session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs will be held from 12 to 16 April 2021.

In the light of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation, the session is likely to be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person participation at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) and online participation. The CND meets every year to discuss the global state of drug control and to adopt resolutions to guide the way forward.

Reconvened 63rd CND session


The reconvened sixty-third session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will be held from 2 to 4 December 2020 starting at 11 am and 3 pm at the Vienna International Centre, as well as via virtual platform. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions only members of the Commission may attend the meeting in person. 

3rd CND intersessional meeting 2020


The 3rd CND intersessional meeting for the 63rd session will be held from 19th October to 21st October at the Vienna International Centre, Board Room C. The meetings will be held starting at 10:30 a.m.

CND Special Event


The 63rd CND will hold a Special Virtual Event commemorating the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking including the Launch of the World Drug Report 2020 and followed by a discussion on the impact of COVID-19 on the world drug situation.

ISSUP at the 60th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs

Earlier this week ISSUP attended the 60th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) at the Vienna International Centre. Around 1,500 government officials and NGO representatives came together to discuss drug-related issues and explore ways to review and plan for a forward looking and comprehensive approach to the world drug problem.
