The 5th International Medicine in Addiction (IMiA) Conference will take place in Melbourne, 1st- 3rd March 2019.
The programme is structured to provide in-depth perspectives on common clinical presentations by leading clinical academics in the addiction field, with related workshops available each afternoon. The program also provides an opportunity to network with colleagues, and actively promote connections between addiction clinicians across the region.

The Icelandic Centre for Social Research and Analysis (ICSRA) is running a three-day workshop from the 6th until the 8th of March 2019 to give an overview of the Icelandic Prevention Model. Contingency management (CM) is one of the most efficacious interventions to promote drug abstinence. Under CM interventions, desirable consequences such as goods or services are provided contingent on objective evidence of abstinence.
Traditionally, CM has been delivered in person so that clinicians could confirm abstinence and provide access to additional therapeutic services. Now, new technologies not only permit remote confirmation of abstinence, but also remote delivery of incentives.
