Today saw the end of the UTC training by ISSUP-Kenya for the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) which started in October 2019 for the members and staff of this faith-based organisation. Originally meant to end in June 2020 this cohort's training was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. However due to the diligence of the cohort members and with the continuous encouragement of the trainers led by ISSUP Kenya chapter President Evans Oloo and our patron and Chairman of the GCCC Dr. Richard Gakunju, the group had their last training and revision day today in a webinar format.

Reentry for Citizens Needing Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Prisons and jails are the largest behavioural health treatment institutions/organizations in every state, and often, especially for those with substance use disorders and mental health conditions, jail or prison are the entry points to Behavioral Health treatment. Once individuals with substance use disorders are released from prison, they have a greater risk of disrupted behavioural health treatment and even fatal overdose.
The EUSPR Board has decided to move its Eleventh Conference and Members’ Meeting and Workshops to an online event. The face to face event scheduled October 7th -9th 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal is cancelled.
The decision is taken due to the yet uncertain impact of the corona regulations on international travel and gatherings. The Conference Committee is working on a series of online meetings, webinars, and other virtual scientific activities during the conference week and will publish information in the first week of July 2020.
